ONZE- Opportunities for Net Zero Emissions

Our ONZE audit helps businesses to measure their emissions, identify opportunities to reduce them and set strategic time bound targets to achieve net zero target. The audit provides a holistic view of decarbonization within and outside the organisation covering Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. It also helps businesses who have already committed to net zero emissions but lack a strategic plan to achieve the targets.

ONZE audit is a stepwise approach in developing NET Zero Strategy that includes scope definition, data collection for measurement & verification, identification of decarbonization opportunities and designing time bound targets.

SECR– Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting

SECR is a new carbon reporting scheme, which replaces the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) scheme. Torque Energy Consultants can help you to achieve compliance.

SECR applies to three types of organisations that are required to prepare an annual Directors Report under the Companies Act 2006:

  • Quoted companies of any size
  • Large unquoted companies (including charities)
  • Large limited liability partners (LLPs)

A company is regarded as large company if it meets two or more of the following in the relevant financial year:

  • Turnover of £36million or more
  • Balance Sheet of £18million or more
  • 250 employees or more

ISO 50001

The purpose of an Energy Management System (EnMS), compliant with ISO 50001, is to continually improve energy performance by the systematic and coordinated approach to energy management.

ISO 50001 certification is a route to compliance for those organisations qualifying for ESOS as long as the certification is valid on the next compliance date of 5 December 2019.

Around the world, Some Companies have some sites certified to ISO 50001 and they produce 60% more energy savings than those not certified.

STEPS TOWARDS CERTIFICATION

Gap Assessment

  • EnMS Building
  • EnMS Population
  • EnMS Operation
  • Certification (Stages 1 and 2)

The certification needs to be conducted by an accredited Certification Body to ISO 50003:2014.

HOW CAN WE HELP?

Our experienced team of accredited consultants can help

  • Gap Assessment
  • Building EnMS
  • Helping bridge the gap to compliance in energy management practices
  • Producing EnMS documentation and conducting EnMS internal audits
  • Supporting Management Reviews
  • Delivering ISO 50001/EnMS training
  • Producing EnMS/energy competency awareness programmes

Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (Esos)

Our Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) audit services not only make you legislative compliant but also help you provide with the opportunities to save on your energy bill; going beyond the compliance through the implementation of energy efficiency. Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) process is a significant benefit to businesses with increased opportunities for energy cost savings and awareness.

Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) Requirements

What are you required to do?
There are six key stages of meeting Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) requirements.

  • Undertake an initial estimate of your total energy consumption.
  • Identify areas of significant energy consumption and prioritise areas with significant energy saving opportunities.
  • Consider and choose the most appropriate routes for compliance.
  • Assign a lead assessor to conduct and/or supervise your energy audits.
  • Get the Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) assessment signed off at the director/board level.
  • Submit a formal notification to Environmental Agency (EA) confirming compliance by the due date.
Non-compliance can lead to financial penalties and loss of business reputation.

Identification of Energy Reduction Opportunities (ERO)

To ensure compliance, the audit must:

  • Identify energy intensive areas
  • Cover at least 90% of the total energy use
  • Define energy use profiles
  • Include the fuel consumption of any company-owned or leased vehicles
  • Measure and audit the fuel used within the business
  • Identify energy-saving opportunities and calculate the potential energy/cost savings

Energy & Water Audit

Energy has become a significant cost after the continuous increase in energy prices and in such an environment it is important to control/reduce your business energy costs so your business could achieve commercial targets. We are aimed at assisting you in the efficient management of energy. We will provide you with the consultation of specific controls and procedures to manage your energy and water consumption. Our approach towards energy and water audits consists of the following steps.

The Process

Our water surveys include:

Water balance

Water reduction programmes – demand reduction and recovery

Energy reduction associated with water supply

Heat Recovery Systems

The compressed air comes at a cost; it is considered as one of the most expensive utilities in a typical manufacturing facility. Despite the fact about the intensive cost of compressed air – it is usually forgotten when it comes to performance improvement.

At Torque, we take a holistic view of compressed air and vacuum systems. Our deep diving into the demand, supply and generation of compressed air vacuum system can identify energy reduction up to 30% including following checks:

We at Torque match the technology with the application including:

  • Heat exchangers
  • Heat pumps and heat recovery chillers
  • Absorption chillers
  • CHP
  • Waste heat recovery boilers/steam generators

HVAC – Heating Ventilation and air conditioning

Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) is essential for any manufacturing facility, production process, area requirements, storage and distribution. Typically, HVAC consumes up to 40% of total energy and therefore it offers the largest energy and cost reduction opportunities.

At Torque Energy Consultants, we look HVAC individually and as part of the entire system such as end-user of central heating and cooling systems.

Torque provides bespoke heating and cooling system surveys including:

  • Performance checks
  • Heat mass balance
  • Demand and supply profiles
  • Gap analysis
  • Design checks

Compressed Air and Vacuum Systems

The compressed air comes at a cost; it is considered as one of the most expensive utilities in a typical manufacturing facility. Despite the fact about the intensive cost of compressed air – it is usually forgotten when it comes to performance improvement.

At Torque, we take a holistic view of compressed air and vacuum systems. Our deep diving into the demand, supply and generation of compressed air vacuum system can identify energy reduction up to 30% including following checks:

  • Pressure requirements
  • Sequencing and control system
  • Leakages

Approximately 90% of electricity consumed by a compressor converts into thermal energy which can be recovered and used for process-heating or space-heating; ultimately saving you on your energy bills.

Metering and Monitoring

Torque can help you to determine consumption trends and to utilise them for future energy planning. In addition, MM also helps you to reviews the past trends of energy consumption to identify the areas of energy wasted so that these can be eliminated in future. With MM, you are able to take control of your energy cost rather than just accepting it.

Torque aims to provide MM services with an aim to reduce your energy costs through improved energy efficiency and energy management. People will undoubtedly play a major role in the success of an MM system and therefore, Torque also helps you provide your employees with training, delegating responsibility and accountability.
